Carrie

This past week we watch the original version of Carrie to start working on analyzation. Being afraid of anything having to do horror, I knew it would frighten me even though I was told otherwise. I was right- found myself looking at the ground instead of the screen. With that said, there was a lot of analyzation that can be done with that movie. Many themes were brought up in class that I wouldn't have thought of, like what the movie could possibly be saying about men/women in our society, or what stereotypes it could be defying. I do like the messages behind the movie and the way it can be analyzed but as a whole it was not a movie I found enjoyable.

Hockey Game

Ever since I toured Western Michigan as a senior in high school and heard about the football games here, I've always wanted to go to one. I was finally able to this past weekend on Saturday night, and it lived up to all of my expectations. My RA is awesome and took almost 10 girls on my floor with her so that we could figure out how to get in and what the chants were and stuff like that. I even got the infamous "Lawson Lunatics" shirt since it was one of the first games of the season. Overall, it was a great experience and I recommend that everyone attends at least one game this year.
